Challenge is a part of life and most often leads us to some of the best discoveries, learning, aha moments and peals of wisdom.

Yet there is a significant difference between embracing a challenge and swimming against the flow of life and the flow of energy.

Unless you are a Salmon, swimming upstream may not be healthy or correct for you. 

When you begin to unlock the information contained in your Human Design Chart, you very quickly begin to see that there are certain qualities and traits that make up your design.  When you are following and in alignment with these, your life flows, you can relax and enjoy your life. When you fight against them, essentially swimming upstream – this is where you experience suffering.

It is so easy to slip into a way of living, a way of being based on what the “expected” norms of society say we should be doing, and begin to think that this is who we are.  The thing about becoming something you are not, is that it will never and can never “fit” you. 

You cannot be what you are not.

No matter how good your intentions are about being or become a specific person, if it is not you, it will never work in the long term.

If you have been brought up, and conditioned to think that certain qualities, and traits are “good” while others are “bad” it can be really challenging to find out that your design is full of what you have been taught to think are “bad”.

I remember when my friend Sian and I first discovered Human Design, and we were exploring all the aspects of each of our design.  She had certain words describing various elements that she did not like.  You see she just come out of years of yoga training, and had come to believe that to be a “good” yogi, and a “good” person you had to be a certain way.  This “way” was not matching up with much of her design.

Naturally there was conflict in this discovery.

She was conflicted about who she thought she was supposed to be, and what her Human Design chart was showing her true nature to be. 

Knowing your design can really help you to let go of all the pretending and pretenses, and just be the person you were designed to be.

My father who is a 6/3 profile has within his design discovery, testing and experimentation.  Yet the very nature of testing and experimenting is that you often discover what does not work.  If you have been conditioned to succeed in life and measure your life around your perceived failures, then this profile can be particularly torturous.  If you have been taught that failure is not an option, and that it is a reflection of you as a person, while at the same time you are designed to jump into one experimentation after the next there is going to be a huge amount of conflict.

With a 6/3 profile your body will continue to need to experiment, regardless of what you mind is telling you or the conditioning you have accumulated. 

Fighting against your design only leads to suffering.

Basically all of human suffering could be averted if we could only learn to live out our true nature.  If we can embrace who we are and stop trying to be who we are note.  

As you tune into your body and get to know the real you, you start to feel your own unique frequency.  You begin to recognise when you are in alignment and flowing with this unique frequency and when you are fighting against it.  Each moment of recognition of your true self allows you to really hone into your frequency. Over time it becomes easier and easier to feel when you have veered off the path and started fighting your way upstream against the flow of your life. 

  • You become skilled at correcting and realigning to your true nature.
  • You begin to truly see yourself.
  • You start to enjoy your character and traits.
  • You stop needing to excuse who you are.
  • You stop pretending to be what you are not.

Every moment is an opportunity for you to live as yourself.  How are you spending this moment?
