The life that you are living now is YOUR life.  If someone was to make a movie of your life then naturally you would be the main character.  You would be the STAR in your own movie.  Yet most of us live our lives as if we are one of the movies extra’s.  We fade into the background, barely being noticed. Rather than stepping fully into playing out the role that we have been designed to play, we hide ourselves behind layers of “story” or “not” truths.  

The best movies have story lines that take you on a journey. They weave you through a tapestry of highs and lows, up’s and downs. Yet when it comes to our lives, we seem to have this false concept that there should only be up’s and high’s.  People can go to extreme lengths to avoid the lows and stay on the highs.

It is important to see that it is every aspect of the journey that makes up the richness of our lives. There really is no positive or negative, just the journey. We are here to experience our journey, to live through all the high’s and low’s and to play out the role that we are designed to play.

The perception of what is good and bad lives in the mind and the stories that it tells us in every moment. When we can escape the need to “tell stories” about what is happening to us and rather allow ourselves to experience the richness of every part of our journey, living as we have been designed to live, is when we get to live out our unique purpose, in alignment with our life force energy.

I have yet to meet a human being that has not experienced some form of loss, hardship and pain. We all have our “stuff” that we have experienced along the path of life. This “stuff” either becomes unbearable baggage that we carry with us to the end, or it becomes something that was an experience from which we learn and have the opportunity to return back to self – to self-love.

There is a saying:

What we resist, persists.

Those of us that are trying to run away from things, to avoid things in our lives – guess what, it will continue to pop up, over and over again, giving us the opportunity to face it, to process it, to let it go. As long as we run, ignore, avoid, the suffering will continue.  It may not be conscious suffering, yet we will suffer regardless. 

On a cellular level we are storing memories, emotions, stories, stress and issues – and they do not leave our physical bodies unless we release them.  While we hold onto them, they become a shadow for us, something that follows us through our life, continuously tainting how we see, how we live, how we perceive the life around us.

When we can learn to:

Breathe and Surrender

Is when we can let go of the stories that the mind tells us.  We can drop into the present moment, rather than thinking about the past or projecting into the future. We can breathe, and release. We can let go and trust that life will unfold in the most magical ways, and that we don’t need to DO anything to make it happen. 

This has been a massive lesson for me in my life. Learning to bring myself into the present moment, outside of the realm of the mind that tells me stories about everything that is happening. Learning to trust that life is coming to me and that when I can follow my decision-making strategy, I will align to everything that is correct and healthy for me.

It is a simple lesson, yet the mind LOVEs to make it complicated.

The more complicated the mind can make this lesson, the harder it will appear to follow it. The mind will come up with all sorts of reasons, why you can’t do it, why you shouldn’t do it. It will make up stories about all the “bad” things that we happen if you do it. It will dredge up the past in an attempt to scare you away from doing it.

The mind will do whatever it can to stay in control.

The mind is literally fighting for it’s survival, it is fighting to stay in control. The mind however is not in control – yes it might have the illusion of control, but it is not in control.  It is our body intelligence that is here to guide us through life, not our minds. The sooner we can get out of our minds, and into our bodies, the sooner we can align to our life path and be in flow.

You are the star of your own movie.

  • Start letting go of everything that makes you feel anything less than that.
  • Drop into your breath, into the present moment.
  • Fill your life with love for self.
  • Anchor into your life force energy
  • Be YOU un-apologetically.
  • Trust that everything you need is coming to you, without you needing to do anything.
  • Follow your decision-making strategy so you can align to all that is healthy and correct for you.
